A day in the life of Wiskow & White

We’re together in Italy at the moment and we’re busy with weddings, trips and business as usual. When I’m not in Italy, my life is a lot more desk based.

6.30am –

Woken by my alarm clock – my son! Go for a quick run then have breakfast with my family.

8am –

Start work at my desk. Check for any urgent emails. I usually have a very clear to do list for the day at the moment consisting of final briefings for upcoming weddings, overseeing the arrangement of trips for 2022/2023 couples, supporting our team and briefing in our new website and online product launch.

Danielle will be doing the same at home! At this time of year, Danielle’s work is heavily weighted to delivery of weddings, especially the arrangements for civil ceremonies which are extremely detailed.

12pm –

Danielle comes to collect me and we head to a venue for a site inspection, it’s an hour drive away. On the way we stop for a quick lunch. Through lunch we chat through our status document which details all of the most urgent actions across all our weddings and projects.

1.30pm -

We arrive at the site inspection – we walk through the flow of the day, we check the measurements of anything specific like tables and inside spaces (especially important now with covid spacing rules), that our décor plans are still on point and that we’re using the space in the best way. We run through the key points of the wedding with the venue owner / manager and check that it’s all aligned with their expectations and that nothing has changed from a venue perspective.

2.30pm

We drive back to nearby our homes and stop on the way to check in with a décor supplier that’s producing some bespoke pottery favours for one of our weddings.

4pm -

We meet our local florist partner to finalise plans for next month’s weddings down to the detail of the exact flower types and how many stems to order.

5.30pm –

We swing by a new venue that Danielle wants to show me.

6.30pm

I’m home for a quick swim and dinner with my family. I may or may not check my emails again…! Log off and look forward to tomorrow.
