From the archives: Nim & Charles fusion wedding

Let’s go back to October 2019, when Nim, Charles and about 100 friends and family, held 3 days of celebrations at La Pescaia resort, deep in Tuscany.

‘Thank you does not describe what we want to say. What you did for Charles and I for over 365 doesn’t have a word in the English language. Your support held me up and your talents as planners surpassed any expectations we had. From all my family and Charles and I, thank you.’

Nim & Charles live in London, and since their wedding have had their darling daughter Lily. I first spoke to Nim back in 2018 when she was exploring a UK wedding vs. an Italian one. We spoke a few times before Nim & Charles took the plunge on the Italian wedding. Nim had created the most detailed venue spreadsheet I think we’d ever seen and had very carefully chosen La Pescaia for all it’s charm, it’s location and it’s space.

I remember when Nim & Charles booked us, knowing that it was going to be our most complex wedding to date, feeling excited for the adventure we were about to go on. Delivering this wedding was going to be a new and stretching experience for our team.

We learnt so much from Nim & Charles as we developed their unique and personal fusion wedding. From how to bring different wedding ideas and traditions together, create new ones and do it all within a certain style and budget.

12 months and many spreadsheets, many meet ups at Waterloo later, it was time for Nim & Charles’ wedding.

Guests were collected at the airport and taken down to the accommodation close to La Pescaia. We’d arrange welcome packs with goodies to last the whole weekend, an aspect that was very important to Nim & Charles’ parents. That evening, guests attended the fusion Mehendi party, inspired by Sorrento. Nim & Charles welcomed guests with delicious food provided by La Pescaia, spritz and welcome favours which included Leone sweets. And ofcourse there was henna!

Earlier that day, we’d held the Vidhi wedding ceremony. An intimate and traditional celebration for close family.

Then there was the wedding day. From a perfectly personal Hindu ceremony, to a delicious aperitif with Italian jazz, through to the wedding dinner and epic cake cutting moment, it had it all.
