Jack & Keira: A 2022 wedding on the horizon after a 2021 postponement

It’s the time of year that’s full of excitement and anticipation for the year ahead. Many couples recently engaged and at the start of their journey, others ready to get married THIS YEAR!

We met Jack and Keira a while back when they first got engaged in Positano and they told us a little about their engagement, venue finding and their wedding plans for July 2021. Covid came and scuppered the couples plans but 2022 is their year and they will get married in August in Tuscany.

Let’s recap their engagement which has become their most treasured memory. Keira describes it as ‘perfect in every way.’ She says, ‘We went on a short city break to Rome and decided to go to Positano for the day. After a short train and boat ride (which was beautiful, may I add!), we went to Le Sirenuse for lunch. The food, service and interior design were out of this world. Green tiled flooring and lemon trees everywhere growing across the ceiling. Not to mention the view overlooking the whole of Positano.

Throughout the meal Jack had kept disappearing, saying he was unwell which was strange as we both ate the same thing. Little did I know he was trying to get a hold of my dad to ask for my hand in marriage.

Once we had finished the meal Jack had mentioned there was a lovely balcony upstairs which overlooked Positano. A receptionist let us out onto the balcony which was under lock and key, proceeded to take a photo - in which was actually a video as Jack proposed!’

Keira had no idea Jack was going to propose and was blown away. Some professional photographers happened to be dining in the restaurant and caught the moment on camera!

Jack and Keira love Italy and are crazy pizza fans, so it was always going to be Italy for their wedding. In 2020 they started planning and went to Tuscany and Umbria to visit their shortlist of venues.

Keira and Jack said, ‘It was truly magical. We had the best trip when we went and we stayed in three separate places - Certaldo, Siena and Orvieto. Seeing all the different towns was an amazing experience. It is a very tiring process - we travelled over 370 miles to view four venues. Our tip is to make sure you have time to enjoy the trip.’

When we started planning with Jack and Keira, they weren’t sure whether it was going to be Tuscany, Puglia or Amalfi for them. After presenting a range of venues to the couple, we quickly narrowed in on what was going to work best to meet all of their needs and unique criteria.

‘As soon as we arrived at our venue we just knew that is was the one and surprisingly it ticked all of our boxes- something we thought no venue could do. The venue we have chosen was suggested by Lucy and Danielle and is quite unknown.’

Keira went on to say, ‘you can’t underestimate the time W&W put into researching, contacting, chasing, negotiating and booking suppliers. W&W have taken the time to get to know what we want, put in hours of research already and helped short cut us to the best suppliers for us. Most importantly they know what works and what doesn’t, what’s going to make the biggest impact on the day and what not to worry about! W&W have an amazing way of creating something authentic to us and we are so excited to bring it to life.'

And so here we are in Jan 2022 - round 2 and the countdown is officially on. So how are the couple feeling now?

‘We’re just so excited to get back to Italy this spring to see the venue again and taste the wedding meal. We’ll be bringing our parents who’ve obviously supported us through the ups and downs and we’re so excited to share it with them.’

And covid? Obviously it’s on their minds…

‘Having gone through the reschedule process and being able to save the wedding we carefully created, we’re confident to go ahead this year even with some minor restrictions in place. Our guests have been awesome and are on board for whatever comes.’
