The Journal - Jan ‘22

12 days until I can have a spritz with this legend. Photo by Sam Docker.

January has been a busy month at Wiskow & White. We’ve had some changes in the team as Beth heads off on maternity leave, the joint W&W and La Lista team is now Lucy, Danielle, Ramona, Emily W, Becky and Emily H!

With a busy summer ahead it’s absolutely integral that we have a super-star team skilled up and ready to tackle the best summer yet.

We’re feeling really confident for the year ahead and our month has been full of detailed catch up calls with our 2022 couples which has gotten us extremely excited. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to confidently plan with couples and allow ourselves to get this excited. It’s what everyone deserves and expects going in to wedding planning and albeit slightly caution in getting ‘carried away’ we are boldly confident and excited for this season.

Our couples calls are really detailed at this time of year because we want them to have secured everything and know exactly what their wedding is going to look and feel like so that the approach to the wedding is calm. This means they can focus on the clothing, the packing, the guests comms and know that their entire wedding is in hand and ready for them.

With that in mind, we’re at the final few stages of planning which include finalising décor quotes and plans with providers and shopping (one of our favourite bits!) for all the décor items. The shopping does get a little complicated (queue another massive spreadsheet) but we love each wedding to be unique so we put a little more effort in to finding or crafting each element to make it so. We love to source items sustainably and will be spending quite a bit of time on ebay, in charity shops and in vintage shops when I’m over in Italy.

The countdown is on and it’s just 12 days till I’m back in Tuscany with Danielle and Ramona. We have a jam packed schedule as always which includes a brief trip to Rome, meetings in Florence, Arezzo and Umbria. There’ll be supplier meetings, briefings, tastings and a team meeting where we chat through every wedding we’re currently planning for ’22, ’23 and ’24. Despite the jam packed schedule, we’ll make making time for lots of food and adventures and we hope you’ll join us on Instagram to see what we get up to.

February will be a jam packed month finessing 2022 décor plans, finalising details and finding venues for 2023 and 2024 weddings. We’ll be hosting another free venues masterclass and have one Clarity Call slot available. I’ll be finalising my preparations for the launch of The Circle in March with 6 couples marrying in 2023/2024 and I absolutely can’t wait to start.

We love a plan but we’ve learnt to go with the flow these days and we’re always open to opportunities…let’s see what February brings.

With love from, Lucy x
