The Journal - Feb/Mar ‘22

Wow - in the blink of an eye that’s February gone! Those gorgeous summer sunsets are getting closer…

The highlight of my month was my trip to Italy and quite a few spritz’ with Danielle.

Whilst over there we visited new venues we’re considering for ‘23/’24. We visited venues we know well and did site inspections for this year (what IS a site inspection I hear you cry – more on that later). We met caterers, florists, décor providers, lighting teams, you name it, to finalise detailed plans for the year ahead. AND we had couples out on trips to find their venues and I got to briefly meet them too. And breathe.

I’ve said before that this year is busy and we tried our best to prepare for it but goodness me it’s busier than we could have expected. We prepared for the slight increase in weddings we have this year. We prepared for suppliers being busier and wanting information. We didn’t foresee the condensed trips from 2022 and 2023 couples. We didn’t foresee how busy 2023 would be and that we’d need to do what we normally do in 4 months, in 1! The good news is that we’re almost through that really busy period and our weddings for all future years are exactly where we want them to be.

March will see us continue the shopping, the décor fiddling, stationery briefings and the final few steps of planning. Our 2022 couples will receive their wedmin packs with guidelines of every final step leading up to their wedding and all the information we need to know.

Over in Italy, Danielle & Ramona will be hosting many more trips this month and attending many site inspections in prep for the summer. As site inspection is essentially a venue walk through with any key suppliers to make plans of exactly where certain things like lighting poles, tents, catering stations and flowers will go. It’s particularly important if a supplier hasn’t worked at a location before.

As you know, we’re pretty pedantic and even the slightest unsightly lighting pole makes us shiver inside. This year Central House has purchased a wider range of lights and even changed the poles he uses at our request. Legend.

Excitingly, in just a few weeks I’ll be heading for a drink with our 2022 crew (thanks to those of you that have RSVP’d!).

As we move towards the end of the month we’ll be winding down our other services to focus solely on this summer. In April we’ll pause our 2023 planning so it’s all eyes on this summers weddings. If you want to snap up one of the few Clarity Calls left this side of the autumn, email emilyw@wiskowandwhite.com

Enjoy that spring like feeling in the air,

With love from Lucy x
