Our Story

Watching the speeches together…one of our favourite wedding day rituals.

It’s a special one…

Back in 2013 on my first trip to Tuscany, little did I know that I was soon to be engaged and the biggest Italian adventure of my life was beginning.

I first met Danielle on a chilly day in a hotel foyer in central London. She looked glam and well dressed as ever, in a black leather outfit. As we sat and discussed our ideas of our weddings, we instantly connected.

Danielle was introduced to me through our wedding venue owner Luciano. His home was our holiday destination that year and he’d used Danielle’s catering company for his son’s wedding and subsequent kids christenings.

A year later, it was time for our wedding day and Danielle, who had started as our wedding catering manager had become our wedding planner. As is the fate of many catering managers! Danielle supported us in planning the wedding that was truly of our dreams. Complicated civil ceremony requirements, the logistics of having 120 Brits in a small town in Tuscany, the plan a/b/c’s and so much more. I was a demanding client I am sure!

In the days that followed our wedding, Danielle came back to visit us and suggested we work together. “We can plan Italian weddings”, she said. Just like that. To me this was worlds away from any reality I could imagine and I remember laughing it off. But Danielle sewed the seed and…well here we are today!

When we did start W&W in 2015, our values were clear from the start. Our vision was a business that was transparent, supportive, clear and caring. People would always be at the centre of what we did whether it was the couple and their wellbeing, or the guests and creating a guest-centric wedding.

It has evolved but our values hold strong with the team we’ve built and filter through to La Lista too of course.

We’re in our season of creating weddings inspired by and celebrating the natural Italian landscape, the natural beauty of life and the joy of gathering. Things that we hold dear to our hearts.

We have an idea of where our story may go in the future but one things for sure, we’re family!
