Exploring Masseria Moroseta.

I’m writing this on my flight home from Bari, Puglia after my last Italian trip of the year.

Oh Italy, how I’ll miss you my love. But it’s time to turn inwards. The seasonal change is upon us and in the Italian wedding world the season is reaching it’s inevitable end.

For me, winter is a challenging time. I really struggle with the cold and the grey days. But each year I challenge myself to make winter as enjoyable as possible. It’s a huge part of my life after all. Tactics include a few new cosy jumpers each year, acquiring the warmest possible blanket I can find and some gorgeous candles to fill my office space. I curate cosy time with friends and family often enjoying seasonal food that my body loves. And movement, making sure I get outside no matter whatever the weather, and for longer periods on the sunny days. My most impactful tactic: surrendering to the inevitable and going with my natural flow.

I think this is an important skill for us all. The act of surrender. Accepting what we can change and letting go of what we can’t. And if you’re a past bride reading this I think it will resonate that this approach is wise when planning…and even on your wedding day.

As we turn inwards as a team, as we do each year, we reflect on the many things we can change and improve. We observe this throughout the season but as we come to this autumn moment we really delve in to the learnings, challenges and wins we encountered this year. What we can do better, what we can do more and less of. What we want more and less of. This causes us to change our services, our internal processes, the suppliers we work with right down to the timings and structure of our team meetings!

And while we look back, we also look forward to the most exciting year Wiskow & White will have to date. 2024 is bursting with beautiful couples, unique projects and adventures Italy wide. We are so grateful for the position we find ourselves in and full of the drive we need to keep pushing and creating these truly immersive and experiential weddings for our clients.

I’ll be taking a few days off to adjust, embrace the change, the approach of winter and enjoy what I hope you’ll agree is finally a well-earned rest,

Lucy x

My last trip of the year. Full of delights: an epic tablescape, antique shopping, the best food tasting yet, always moving and my first time trying orange wine.
